If you guys remember me, along time ago I posted a topic talking about my pond being built. I also said by springtime I would have a camera to take pictures. Unfortunately, I don't. However I took a picture of my pond with my mom's cellphone and sent it to my email. One picture costs 25 cents to send. So i sent one. and here it is.

Edit:

The pond is around 350 gallons housing 17 small 1.5 inch commons. The pond is a month old and so far so good. smile.gif

smile.gif Hi gollie,it's good to see you.
Glad to hear that your pond is doing good so far.THe fact that it's only been a month though, means that it still will need close monitering on params. You have added the max amount of fish for this size of pond,so checking params will be really important.Hopefully you'll be able to get a full pic of it all soon,as we just love admiring the ponds.Good luck! smile.gif

Thank you. smile.gif The water hyacinth is doing a good job eating nutrients out of the water. Ammonia and nitrites at 0 and Nitrate somewhere around 30 after my water change. However, I have one problem. The pH gets extremely low. The ph is 6.4 right now. I have done water changes but after about 3 days the pH goes back down again. I was wondering what I can do to help with the pH and help it stabilize.

Gollie, one idea would be looking into crushed coral to add to the filter. It normally last quite a while and will help stabalize the ph better. Every time all those fish produce ammonia/waste,it will take that ph down .What size type filter(s) are you using?

I have a tetra pond PF 2 or 3(forgot which one) going to a waterfall. I have just added some crushed oyster shells to the filter. Does it matter how big you crush the oyster shells? Is it necessary to crush them?
