Recently, my poor little betta, Blue Lagoon, had a bad case of fin rot. I'm still not sure what caused it as the tank parameters have always been perfect. Regardless, after a round of tetracycline, salt and Melafix, it has finally been cured. Unfortunately, his once beautiful, perfect half-moon tail has been reduced to a stubby, shredded mess. He is a deep, ocean blue colour but all of the new regrowth is clear. Is this going to be permanent or will his beautiful blue colour eventually come back?
Ponderosa Power
It will probably grow back, but not the same color or length as before. Sometimes the color comes back in a week after new growth, but sometimes it takes months. The important thing is that he's healthy and happy!
Mads
the colour should slowly grow back, but it'll take longer than the actual rate of growth of the tail. smile.gif

Hi,

Thanks for the replies. Tail is steadily growing and some of the colour seems to be coming back. He seems very happy. He's very funny. When I walk up to the tank, he wiggles like a puppy. The other betta is far more reserved. It's interesting to see the different personalities! smile.gif
