Ok, I have no words beyond: Envy. Gorgeous pond; how many gallons?
bluiis
Wow! you are lucky, lucky to have such a beautiful pond and so are your fish to have such a nice home! It looks so big how many gallons? I see to the right side you have a bird statue- is that a blue heron? Do you find it works to keep birds away?

Thanks for the comments guys biggrin.gif

smile.gif Thank you for posting the pics. You have some really big ,beautiful koi,and I hope that someday I'll have the space for I have wanted a huge pond since I was a child.I couldn't even pick out a favorite fish as they were all beautiful and fat. And I loved those "close up Mug shots" biggrin.gif Hopefully you get rid of the nasty Parasite, and everyone can get back to a carefree/free and easy space.I absolutely love it,thank you for sharing. biggrin.gif

Wow ! Gorgeous pond ! Other than the home made filters you have, what else do you do to keep the fishies healthy and water clean?
Speedingorange
um water checks every week. and er... water changes if needed. thats about it...

really... the water is kept that clean by my filter and UV filter...

Thanks for sharing pics of your pond, it really is beautiful! I love koi, but it's illegal to keep them in the state I live in, (and even if it wasn't I live in a flat with a very small backyard!)

I'm sorry to hear you have aparasite outbreak, -do you think that's why you lost your orf? That was a beautiful fish too.

As for the top pond residents, I know from a previous thread you mentioned that you had goldies, but they went for a slippery slide down to the koi pond and got eaten right? blink.gif I can't think of any fish that would be able to avoid getting sucked over the edge of the waterfall, -have you thought of putting some sort of mesh or something to stop the fish from getting too close to the fall? like not right next to where the water starts rushing over, but like a cage like half a foot, or a foot away from the edge where the flow of water is not too strong to deter your top floor residents from getting too close?? -then maybe some nice sarasa comets or other?? smile.gif
Sonny
Very nice!

I like the big black ones. Are they koi or some type of wild carp? I've often thought that if I ever decided to get koi I'd rather go for those big black carp. Their color makes them less noticeable and they look so stealthy and graceful when they swim.

If you have a problem with fish slipping from the upper pond into the lower why not use the upper pond as a filter area and put some plants that would eat up your nitrates?
Trinket
Agreed. I think the current in the top pool looks too fast and strong for fish but would make an excellent aeration/bio filter pool.

I agree with d's-assistant- one look at your fish/whales and I thought you kept swimming dogs in there! They are huge! And obviously well looked after. just beautiful, the whole thing heartpump.gif exactly.gif Thanks for sharing them with us.

THanks for all the awesome comments people biggrin.gif

i was thinking mayb fresh water muscles? in the top pond? would that be posible? or something unusual? crayfish? or would i need a REALLY good divider?
