Hello, does anyone know anything about the glowing bacteria in a pinecone fish and why they glow? I need it for a science report but there isnt much info about them on the internet.

Sorry sweetheart, I've never heard of anything like that before except for a glowing virus on land snails.

thanks for the reply, I found some more info if you type in pineapple or knight fish but still not enough info. Anyone else know anything? I know they are sometimes kept in aquariums so someone must know something.

I saw one offered in a pet shop once... never saw them again. Try looking for info on Flashlight fish or Photoblepharon palpebratus. The bioluminescent bacteria in their glowing eye-appendages might be connected with those in the pinecone fish.
