Great photos! He certainly is well camoflauged! In some of the shots, it looks like he has a human skull sculpted in the top of his head.

Thanks.... They find one off of Kona's coast about every five years...so I feel real lucky to say the least!!!! smile.gif

I couldn't stop looking at those pics! That is an amazing creature and he has a look on his face, doesn't he? What an expression, I'm not sure who was more surprised and he doesn't look too happy. It does look like a human skull on top of his head.

Yes, I would agree....he does have a look on his face....I will tell you I was probably the more surprised but he also looks a bit taken a back also!!! biggrin.gif

That is awesome to see them in the wild. You can never believe how big these creatures get until you see them in the wild. Jenny and I did that in the Sea of Cortez with porcupine puffers. All we could say was Wow!
