Do you have any way of testing the quality of your water? It may be that your water quality is not quite right - for one reason or another. This can lead to many problems - problems that can be dramatically worse for a gravid female.

If the fish spawned in the water, then the water is commonly full of extra biological material - from the milt and eggs and the extra waste the fish put off from all the extra food they ate (eggs)! A big spawning in one of my perfectly cycled tanks is often enough to bump the cycle. I try to change out a LARGE amount of the water as soon after a spawning as possible. Your fish, milt and waste for the egg eaters, may have fouled the water more than you realize.

A female that is not dropping her eggs for any reason is very prone to bacterial infections. Those eggs are sitting up inside her - some may start rotting - leaving open the door for internal infections.

Water with ammonia, nitrite or even too much nitrate can cause problems.

I would suggest seeing if you can get your water tested for the three things - ammonia/nitrite/nitrate, check the pH, and then, maybe, feed the fish greens only for a few days - peas or some such fresh green vegetable that you blanch for them.
