Heya, one of my new female guppies dosn't seem to be doing too well. She was down on the bottom, not sitting, she was swimming around but didn't come up for food tonight when I fed them, but she did come up and eat this morning (guys get fed twice a day, only very small amounts tho)

The whole bottom of the tanks is covered in massive pile of java moss, so she was underneath all that, down the back.

I've moved to her to a small holding tank which floats in the larger tank, to keep an eye on her. Her breathing seems a bit fast and she's bottom sitting all the time. She's also been moving her tail back and forth in a swimming motion like shes fighting a current, but their isn't any current whatsoever is the holding tank.

I only got her yesterday, the other two females I got with her seem fine, both are heavily pregnant, which I only just noticed today, could the ill guppy have been pregnant to and given birth or something and is now recovering? Blah any ideas?

Well she died this morning. I had a look at the pics I took yesterday and she was heavily pregnant but this morning didnt have any gravid spot to speak of, but was bright red in the area instead. So I guess she aborted. I'm arranging to get hold of more females for the male as he's not leaving the remaining two girls alone.

Sorry you lost the guppy Avalon.
Guppies dont always have a long life as the females get tired easily from being gravid a lot of the time and it shortens the life span.
Good luck with your other fish
