Ok, so I have heard of the site, and had enough time today to check it out. When I get my 55 gallon setup/completed I am so in the market for some new goldies. I VERY MUCH SO want a panda butterfly or panda oranda. This limits me to ordering from a LFS or buying online...or so I though. I was visiting the Dandy website and had a *duh* moment. They are in Columbus, Ohio... which is only about two and a half hours from my house.
So, I am wondering, have any of you had experience with their fish? Do you know if you can purchase at the site? I know I can email and ask, I just wondered if any of you had had personal experience in dealing with them. I'd heard the site mentioned here before.
Thanks!!!

dandyorandas is one of the best place to buy gold fish. Good customer service, perfect knowledge on goldfish.

Give Ken a call - he will be happy to help you find what you want..... He may or may not have exactly what you wish immediately, but, given time, you will get it. He does not always keep his website up to date, but his fish are kept in pristine condition.

He has AMAZING fish - and really takes care of them. I have never gotten a fish with parasites or anything from him - (well, at a show once, someone dumped some used water in a tank and he found a fluke. He immediately called all his customers and warned us. I scoped and scoped and never found a one - but treated anyway)....

Ken usually works off a video DVD that he can send you with movies of all the fish he has - you can see them swim and move so you will know how they act - not just a stagnant, still picture.

You will be pleased with any of the fish from Dandy Os. smile.gif

Thanks you guys! Do you know if you can buy them on site? I think I'd rather make the drive up there, it would probably be cheaper than shipping anyway.

Oh sure, you can go and visit him - just make an appointment first, so he really has the time dedicated to you. He has a video/photograph business, and is not always at home, especially on weekends doing weddings and stuff, so its always better to call ahead and make sure he'll be home.
2 1/2 hours away from him? Boy, I know where I would spend a lot of time.... rofl2.gif

Yea, I live in Kentucky, but I'm just right across the river from Cincinnati, so it's not too far.

Another question, any thoughts on Koi Station/Goldfish World... buying from their website or from them on Ebay?

And who is this "Tommy" everyone buys from? Does he have a website too?

I really want a Panda Oranda, and I am trying to weigh my options here.

Nevermind the Tommy question, I found him.

I've purchased a few times from goldfishworld2006 on Ebay. The fish have been healthy and very pretty. Here's my Tri- Panda Oranda from there--
Angelsun Goldfish--Alexander Oranda

Also, I've purchased from Goldfish Utopia. The fish have always been gorgeous and they are very reasonably priced as is the shipping. There were several up but at the moment, there only seems to be the one Tri-Oranda.

Just something to keep in mind. Most people who buy panda's dont keep panda's. They have a habit of not keeping their. My avator is my panda. But in my sig you well see he did not keep his color.
Ranchugirl
Its the "panda syndrome" - enjoy it while it lasts, and be prepared to see a different colored fish in no time... biggrin.gif
I don't know if Roland from KoiStation/Goldfishworld has a website yet, but you can find his fish on ebay under Goldfishworld2006.... smile.gif

What I wouldn't give to get my hands on one of the oranda's he has at the moment, as well as two of his ryunkins. Why oh why couldn't I have gotten into Goldfish Keeping before I moved to Canada? sad.gif

Yea, I'm aware of the "Panda Syndrome", it stinks... but I've always wanted an all-white goldfish anyway, so I figure I'll take lots of pictures while I have the black colors and reminisce. Seriously though, thank you all so much for your responses. I'm quite hesitant to buy online, just because I'm afraid of shipping. I know it's quite popular, especially to get your hands on a rare fish. Knowing you guys have had positive experiences sets my mind at ease. (At least a little smile.gif )
