alright I bought a veiltail betta about 2 weeks ago and i've been doing 100% water changes every week(i don't have a filter for him), he's in a 2.5 gallon tank, i always use dechlorinator I just want to make sure he can live a happy life in there!! reading some of the posts made me remember a betta I had about 2 years ago and i kept him in a vase with a plant because i heard that they can eat off the plant roots... he ended up dying fairly quickly. now that i think about it, it makes me really sad! i had no idea! i've learned SO much more now... just wanted some advice from you all on what I should name him. i've watched him and he patrols his whole tank he'll swim then freeze up and his tail will rise and then he loosens up again... his body color is like a pinkish whitish greenish yellowish blueish color(every way he swims it's like a rainbow) and his tail is a dirty yellow with bright blue, dark blue and the top of his head is a light yellow. i've been trying to think of a name but sadly... nothing any suggestions would be nice!

I think you just said it--Rainbow! Or how about Prism--you know how they reflect rainbow colors. Anyway he sounds really hot. Can you take pix for us?? Would love to see him.

If he's always patrolling, you should name him "Chips" - the nickname for "California Highway Patrol"

You can get a revolving red light to put over the bowl. Haha!

hmmm Chips. Officer Chip reporting for duty! a red flashing light... maybe i can find a mini cop car to put in his tank....
