I have just set up a new 5gal tank for my betta and was thinking about planting it. I was wondering what are some good easy plants for a betta tank of this size. The tank also has a dwarf african clawed frog and a snail.

Also when should the plants be added, and is there a good thread or website for plant care?
Thanks
Leanne

Betta's love any plantts, silk or real that they can hide behind or on lay on as in "fluffy" bed. biggrin.gif
Some good live ones are Anubias,Java Fern,Java Moss. They are simple low light plants.
My Betta also used to love sleeping in Cabomba,That's a very soft willowy sort of plant.
As for the frog,is he an ADF Dwarf African Frog,or an ACF African Clawed frog? You can tell for sure by their hands. Clawed frogs have what look to be single fingers where the dwarf frogs have webbing between each finger.

Thanks Devs,
The frog is dwarf sorry for not specifying. He use to be in with my goldfish but there was a massive tank issue about 6 months back krazy.gif I thought I was going to loose him so he got moved into the betta tank so I could keep a better eye on him. Once the tank issue was resolved I just kept him with the betta as I can see him better in the smaller tank and the two seem to get along really well.

I just got the new tank up a running, would you put plants in before it has finished cycling or right away?
thanks smile.gif
