Is the Ramshorn Snails the "good kind" to keep? I always forget which is more "pesty". blink.gif

Some are good. Marisas, commonly called ramshorns, are good. They get pretty big, heres a pic of mine IPB Image.
They come in a couple different colors I think.

Theres smaller ones that are pests though

Regular Red,or Brown Ramshorns, otherwise known as Planorbids, although pretty, are quite often thought of as "Pest Snails".They will somehow end up in every single filter and in every tank that you have set up over time,no matter how careful you think you are blink.gif
On the other hand,Columbian Ramshorn snails fall in the family of Apple Snails, and are a good snail. You can find them one solid dark color,or like Nichole has,Gold with a Stripe. They lay their eggs under water, but they're big enough to see to remove if you choose not to multiply your snail amounts biggrin.gif
The name Ramshorn basically applies to the shapes of their shells. smile.gif ,so with the names being used for two different types of Snails, you have to be careful with what you're getting. biggrin.gif
