As some of you may know, I've been having a lot of problems with my fish lately. I have three in a 30gallon tank, when I put them in, two of them were very small. Well now they're all fairly large and the perams are giving me 222. My blackmoor has serious SBD, my oranda spends a lot of time on the bottom and now my lionhead is showing signs of disease. So.......I'm going out in about an hour and and getting a 40 gallon or larger! I have enough in my savings, all I need is the tank and a larger filter, this has to be done! I just hope that my fish improve when they move in.

I'm going to put all the old gravel in and the filters, plus a new one. Hopefully the cycle may be ok, but otherwise I'm just going to have to test the water daily and do my best to keep it in check. Sorry for the rant, but I'm so frustrated and upset for my goldies, hopefully this will be a new beginning for them. Wish me luck!!!

I did it!!! biggrin.gif

I got my poor mom to go to EVERY pet store in the city with me today and I finally settled on a 40 gallon (the largest I could afford). I got a starter kit because it was cheaper than buying the tank and canopy seperate, most of the things that came with it were crappy, but it did have an awesome air pump and net. I also got an aquaclear 50 to put on, in addition to my biowheel. Unfortunatly, I didn't have time to set it up. I wanted to call off all my St. Patty's day plans just to do it!!! rolleyes.gif

I was also really impressed with the store staff. They told me straight up that the filter (an undergravel) and the heater included with the kit were useless. They seemed to not only really know their stuff but also care. It's a new place that I haven't had too much experience with, but they only have shelter cats and don't carry any puppies...maybe I've actually found a semi-humane and usefull large chain pet store???
