As of this morning, Lilly's tank in fully cycled!!!!! banana.gif It seems like it took forever! I noticed the Nitrites were coming down in the last 2 days or so. Then, this morning, completely gone! I feel like shouting it from my rooftop. I probably would if it wasn't raining right now. Anyone else feel this happy at full cycle?

I know exactly how you feel. exactly.gif It always takes a long time see the nitrites start to come down but once they do it happens fast. Two months is a long time though. Mine usually cycled in 5 - 6 weeks. There are many variables though, I'm sure.

Congratulations!

Wait until you start sitting around thinking. OMG what if I'm not really cycled? What is the water is toxic and then start testing like mad.

The next step is wondering what to do with all the spare time you now have since you are not doing hourly water changes. Then all of sudden before you know it, you have another tank, then another.

Okay perhaps I thought way too much about this. My tank took 2 months to cycled then I unknowlingly added meds crashed the cycle and it took another 2 months. I wanted to crack out the wine by the time I was cycled.

Congrats! I'm sure Lilly will be very happy!

Yay! Cycled!! happydance.gif Towards the end of the nitrIte stage it just becomes plain tedious doesn't it?! Then when you stop reading them, then as Kat says, the feeling of "hmmm..., but is it really cycled?" kicks in.

Congratulations! You've done it - er, well nature has anyway! Yes, it seems normal for us "fish people" to become sooo excited over this "event"! Good luck with your new "cycled" tank! biggrin.gif

Lol, crack out the wine huh. Lol. Well that just made my day.

But congrats on the cycled tank, I don't even think mine is cycled yet, its only been up for about 3 weeks and i still have not gotten my test strips....So i have no idea what my numbers are, i just know i change about 20% of the water a day and my fish are all still alive, so until i can get some $$, hopefully my fish stay good and healthy and the water doesn't get all out of wack. lol

Aww hang in there Jenny, what you can do is take a sample of your water to your local LFS. I know Pet Smart will do it and they will test it for you, free of charge.
