Although Sparky was calm he was really fast like a spark of lightning, I mean really FAST! I know this seems a little cruel but I didn't have enough money so I was only able to buy him a 1 gallon tank with air pumps and a light. Surprisingly he survived in the tank for 1 whole year! I am not trying to be cruel, why else would I spend most of my time cleaning its tank and feeding it. Well don't think bad of me it was an accident, well my betta accidently slipped out of the tank and got down the drain! So this page is dedicated to my one year old fish. Please don't think bad of me.

I'm so sorry for your loss! If you decide to get another betta, you may want to look on craigslist.com for an inexpensive tank (I noticed that you're from WA and, if you're on the west side of the state, there always seem to be people on there selling larger tanks at low prices.)

You're not a terrible person because you did your best for Sparky within your means. And for a year too. I'm sorry he passed, you obviously cared a lot for him

Oh my! I am so sorry for this terrible mishap! What a way for Sparky to go.I know how you feel though because I have actually done that twice when syphoning out fish tanks with baby fry.
It was a terrible accident,but sometimes one that you don't forsee until something does happen unfortunately.I have now bought a little strainer that fits right into my sink drain,so that it never happens again.
You did well by keeping him alive for a year,so remember that.

But you've had a betta for a year .. I guess that's longer than what most people would keep a fish for.
