I just found this add in Craigslist (the tank is in a neighbouring city, which is basically the same city), and it is:
33 G tank
stand
gravel
filter (don't know what kind, but they say it is "worth" $170 new)
heater
10G Q.Tank
decor items (plants etc)
covers
lights
and (Sorry I can't think of what it's called, and neither can they) the thing you hook up to your tap for water changes to drain and fill the tank
All this for $100 CAD
We just bought new fish for our 10 G today, and I have been waiting to get at least a 20G so I can get 2 GF as well...humm, I wonder what hubby will say when he gets home. It was just listed this morning, AHHH, I think I am going to get!! I could have 3 fancy goldies!!! I am so excited!!

It sounds like a good deal to me, but you'd have to go look at everything to be sure (look for cracks, breaks in the selant, etc). You could three goldfish but you could also just get the two you were planning on... I'm sure they'd appreciate the extra growing room. I just got a new 20T myself, but I was itching for the 29, unfortunately price wise it just wasnt in my range...
Anyway, good luck on the new tank... let us know how everything turns out.

Thanks, now I just gotta convince my hubby!
It said it didn't leak, I am weary of the filter, as most people have to small of one for GF.
I will just enjoy my new tropical tank until tomorrow hopefully.
Fingers crossed I can convine hubby. He thinks I am getting a bit addicted, which I can't deny. I miss goldies!
It's like it was meant to be though, basically same town, first ad that popped up, good size for 2-3 goldies (I was already starting to think of only 2 so they can grow better). I am so excited...come on honey, say yes!!

Sounds good! Even though it SAYS it doesn't leak, I would still inspect carefully just in case. Also, I wouldn't worry about the filter.... with a deal like you would be getting, spending a little extra on a good filter shouldn't be a big deal; in fact, instead of buying a whole new big system to service the whole tank, you might even pick up a smaller one (sometimes as little as 20$) just to supplement the one it came with. As to your being addicted, I think that you'll find that it's a commonly used adjective in the goldfish-keeping world... go take a gander at the Goldfish Anonymous page on the Goldfish Discussion board, lol! There's nothing wrong with being enamoured of your fish, and personally I dont think two tanks is that bad. One for tropicals and one for goldies sounds just right to me!
My fingers are crossed for you too; good luck in your fishy debate... make sure to remind him that this deal is about as good as it gets and if you wait for somewhere down the line, things are likely going to cost ALOT more (I think I spent around 170$ for all my nonsense... stand, tank, glass hood, gravel, filter... and mine is just a 20 gallon; the 29 would have added another 50$ at least for the tank and the stand plus a bigger filter).

I have been watching for 3 months now looking for a good deal, and none have been so good as this, and without driving a big distance too. They never seem to be advertised int he city I live in. Oh well, it wasn't meant to be. Everything happens for a reason.
