nemo, my comet, needs to be put in the pond - i was wondering when is the temperature ok to move him? do i need to wait until spring is here? i'm in the uk for anyone who needs to know.

*deffinately* wait until spring! the temperature change will shock him too much.

Id say actually late Spring .... i had a pond and the water is still really cold in
spring.

I would also wait until spring if you are keeping this fish in a heated environment.

Comets, just like shubunkins and other pond goldies, adapt really well to the weather outside, when done GRADUALLY. Since your fish comes most likely from a heated invironment, I would wait until the temperature outside is warmer. Once outside, going through summer and fall, he can adapt to pond temperatures, as long as they dont drop too low, and you might be able to keep him in that pond next winter. But for now, let him enjoy his *spa* treatment! biggrin.gif

cool - thanks guys. i wasn't going to chuck him in just yet(!) but was wondering when the best time would be. the tank he's in isn't heated, but the temp rarely gets below about 65o, and the weather's freezing here so the pond temp must be about 40o at best!

I agree spring would be perfect wav.gif
