I currently have 3 fish in my tank, a small fantail, and slighty larger ryukin, and a pearlscale thats about 5cm long, Im wondering what fish would go well with them.
They dont fight for food, and they all get on well, and i want another fish thats ok to be with them.
I was thinking of an red caped oranda, or a lionhead.
sorry, im new here, and im not too good with goldfish atm (my first goldfish, a celestial, bloop, died recently) i know their not a beginners fish, but i fell in love with his cute big eyes... he lived for 13 months, and only recently have i upgraded, now i got a tank thats approx 80lt and 3 new fish, and in a few months im getting one that holds approx 200lt, and would like some new fish to go with them so im preparing for what fish to get.
So any fish that can go with pearlscales, and fantails, please share.
thanks

Hi and welcome.
It is wonderful that you are learning this new hobby of keeping gf. But I must be honest, your tank is only about 18 gallons. Therefore it is only big enough for 1 gf.
Reason is, gf are messy beings and produce tons of waste thus water quality is the single most important issue to the fish.
Experts recommend 10 gals of water per fancy gf......orandas, ryukins, fantails, double tail gf.
And 20 gals per each common or comet (single tail gf).
So being overstocked not only shouldn't you add anymore gf, you need to upgrade quickly to avoid illness and potential death of these.
You can find alot of information on gf and their needs here on the site and we are always happy to answer in questions you may have. For this hobby can be so fun and relaxing or it can be very upsetting if you don't have the environment right for them.
(ps, I did a calculation for your upgrade tank and it will hold aproximately 50 gals so you may can add one or 2 to that tank)

It's good to hear you are upgrading the size of your tank, the one you've got is currently overstocked, Laurie is right, although your fish are still small, so you'll be alright for now, you really should get a larger tank asap, or think about returning one of your fish. Definitely don't think about getting any more fish for your tank until you get your 200lt tank. when these gals talk about 10 galls that a little over 40 litres (noticed you talk litres not US galls).
As you get more into the hobby you'll find that it's much more enjoyable having just one or two goldfish in a big tank instead of packing it full of fish like you see in petstores. You really get to know your individual fish and they are much happier when they are not overcrowded. Currently I have 4 goldfish in a 750litre tank, and I love it more than my 250 litre tank with 6 goldies in it.
