I feel like this is a silly question, but after reading it in another member's post, I thought I would ask. I have been using Splendid Betta complete water conditioner with every water change for both of my betta tanks. Is Prime safe to use for bettas? I noticed another member stating that they used it, and I wanted to know if there are any others out there who do. I use Prime for my trop and my goldy tanks.
Any feedback will be appreciated!

Good to hear! I use Prime in my goldy and trop tanks. I will switch the bettas over this weekend. Besides, it will be cheaper in the long run anyway! hehe

I have been using Prime with my Betta, Steven Tyler, for almost 2 years now and its wonderful. I would not use any other conditioner.

I love prime and use it for all of my fish because it has the ability to detoxify any ammonia, nitrite and nitrate, along with the metals and chlorine.

Kissy. I have been using spring water with my betas due to me living in a building that was built in 1928. the pipes are old and I think I may have lead or rust in my water due to the pipes. Due you think I could use tap water with the prime in it?

In another post, I received a link to Bigalsonline.com. I noticed on the main page that they have sale prices for Prime...a 500ml bottle for $10.99!! I paid $10 for a 325ml bottle at a lfs. But I don't know how much shipping charges are. Might be a little higher, but a little goes a long way. Better value!
Not to mention I just ordered the Betta first aid kit from Bettatalk.com.
I have recently come to the conclusion that I spend more on my pets than I do myself...

I'm not totally sure, Bettaqueen. If you can find out what exactly is in your water it would be safest. Prime tells you how much to add for different ppms of things. Maybe you could ask the company? In my experience, Seachem has always been a very honest and helpful company.
Adjusting the amount of Prime will detoxify any rust, but I'm not sure about lead. Do you drink your water?

Thanks Kissy. No I do not drink my own water I drink bottled water only. I even cook with bottled water. the only thing I do with tap water is bathe and wash my dishes in it. I use bottled water for the bettas as well. the one time I used treated tap water Zeke got really sick.

If you don't drink your tap water, I would not risk it for the fish. Fishies are much smaller and sensitive than us.
