Full Version: New Lionhead!

I finally bought myself a lionhead! S/he is the cutest little thing; very pretty white with bright metallic orange. We got our new order in at work and this little one was the only one I liked the look of, even though it was a bit floaty. By time I got it home it seemed pretty stressed out, wouldn't eat and went to floating on its side after a little bit so I was deathly afraid of having a dead fish by morning. This morning it was fairly active and nibbling on some peas, still floaty but I think s/he'll get through that pretty quickly. Any other advice on food to give the little bugger? It's only been fed flakes before, so the peas are quite a novelty. It is currently housed in a 10G quarantine, but will be moved to a 30G in a few days where he will be alone until I find the perfect friend for him (there is a very cute calico ryukin there too, might end up being that one). Next step, I need to find out if I have a male or a female so I can name it! I just got more batteries for my digi cam so I'll try to get some pics posted tomorrow biggrin.gif

Congrats! Lionheads are so cute and yours sounds shiny and pretty. You could try making some gel food for her. If shes enjoying the peas, shes sure to love homemade food, or another veggy. If shes a little floaty that might also help her with those issues. Looking forward to seeing her pic biggrin.gif

Congrats on your new Lionhead. They're one of my favorite kinds.Trinket gave you a good tip. Also, you want to keep your params perfect, and your nitrates under 20 as they'll sometimes aggravate the situation even more.
We'll definitely be waiting for pics! exactly.gif
