I just bought a small bundle of anacharis from the petstore and I'm wondering how well it does as a floating-type.
Right now I'm disinfecting it in a salt-dip and I've noticed that the bottom of the stems are brownish. Should I make a fresh cut before introducing it to my tank?
Any advise would be appreciated.

hi!
one of the stem my goldfish chewed off from my bunch kept on floating and floating and floating. but it grew too! i might even grew faster than the ones that are tied down. i put it in my 5 gallon with some yeast co2 creator thingy. right now, it doubled the size it use to be when it was chewed off, which was anbout a month or so ago. it even growing some roots i think it will be alright if you float them. works for me
im not so sure about cutting the brown ends, i just leave it on

You don't need to do a fresh cut. You can just put into the tank. If you have a hungry fish like mine, the whole bunch will be disappeared within a week. Good luck

Hehe, that's what I'm worried about. Hopefully they won't pay too much attention if I let it float, but we'll see...
