Help Please! I would like a stone bottom, without detrius build up, so thinking 3 bottom drains to a cannister filter and then returning to a small spray head above the stones. Then a skimmer overflow to 2 gravel towers for cleaning and polish and return to tank. In sump fluidized bed for a 250 gal tank. The 2 bottom plates slightly overlap and are angled for flow. This is a 36 gallon tank with approx,20 gallons of water in sump so nearly 60 gallons. Will this support 2 or 3 Orandas safely. Thanks for any advise Steve

be really careful with drilling the bottom. aquarium bottoms are made from tempered glass, which is a stronger, harder type of glass. Because of this, when you drill, it has a tendency to crack.
Good luck smile.gif

If tempered aquarium glass cracks the same way that tempered-glass refridgerator shelves crack, then watch out! My fridge shelf literally exploded- little bits of glass everywhere!

I built the tank 4 years ago so its not tempered, well, got the stand and shelves done, drilled 5 holes (all good) siliconed in a brace for top, today will cut holes for plumbing and haul it all in the house, no pics for a couple of weeks (camera is on vacation)
