OK, let's say you could mix any features from any goldie breed. What would you want?
I want a PANDA ORANDA. Not only does the name sound cool, but i think it would look awesome!

They do look awesome, but usually they don't hold their coloring. Mine turned into a "sort of lemonhead" oranda. He was cute as a panda though.

I wonder if they exist yet...

The possibilities!
A tosakin mixed with a jikin.
At the moment I'd really just be happy with a orange & brown colored oranda...lol And a pearlscale and..and and...

I have a pearlscale/ryukin. He/she (can't tell yet) is actually turning out to be a really neat fish. It has a very round body, and pearlscales but also has a long broadtail, ryukin hump and spangles! The spangles are shaped like pearlscales! He is orange with black and yellow patches and his fins are streaked orange, black and white. I can't wait to see what he looks like as a mature goldfish. This fish eats like a pig and has gone from a quarter inch long in April to almost 3 inches now! My son named him Pumpkin ('cause he looks like one!).

I'd like a black moor with a butterfly tail, pearl scale body shape and no dorsal fin.
Though on the realistic front... I'd like to find a female butterfly moor at my LFS... they only have the normal fancy tailed ones... and if I get my 25 gallon, I want to have a butterfly to put in with Leo. Giving more space in the 40 gallon for growing fishies, as well as getting the slower swimming and poorly sighted fish out of the way of my bully.

Right now, more than anything,I'd like to get a hold of either a Deep Blue Lionhead,or Ranchu.

I know someone that has these fish,I'm just waiting for babies.
Another choice would be a Frogshead,

Now that I'm thinking about it,this person has one of those too!

Oh,one more...it's not seen much around here, but I'd love a Black Bubble Eye or Celestial.
Our fish stores, although there are many, really are bad for any selections.

I've tried to get pics of this guy. The best picture I've managed so far is a blurry orange blob with red-eye. Doesn't really give much of an indication of how beautiful he looks!

He is neat. He is one of the spawn that Andrew (Fish Sempai) gave me to try to raise in the spring. This is the one I decided to keep as it had an even split of traits from both parents. It's really funny to look at him. His face is exactly like a ryukin, pointy and wedge shaped, but then his body just keeps expanding outward in all directions back past his gills. Then you add the hump and he looks even fatter! But he is a strong swimmer and quick like a ryukin, I guess 'cause he got their fins.

Sharon - there was this perfectly lovely black celestial for sale at the show last August - quite cheap. She was only about $65!!! But...... I was bartering for another fish at that time, and she was purchased before I could get to her!!!! But, they are out there!!!!!
I am working SOOOOO hard on blue babies.... I am feeding blood worms and changing water. I have a nice 20L nicely cycled with a big sponge filter just waiting.......
If I could trust Kermit with a little female, the genetics of one fish I have would most likely produce nicer red/white or calico frogheads...... I am just afraid that Mr. Maniac Fish would kill the female in the process and I have so few good females at this time I am loathe to try. I am working on learning to hand spawn a male - and when I have success, Kermit will, hopefully, be a daddy!!!!

If you get any calico frogheads from Mr. Maniac, I want one!!!! Hopefully the fry get the personality traits from Mommy.

If my guys ever reproduce, I'll send you one of my ranchu/pearlscale/ryukin hybrids. (I can only imagine what that would look like...probably Quasimodo! Humps and lumpy heads, fat bodies, broadtail fins and pearlscales...hmmm

i actually read in a book that a frogshead is a variation that has a wen, and sacs beneath its eyes... sometimes their heads get so heavy, that they just "rest" with their faces down, and their tails up in the air!
i'd like a white, not albino, phoenix/tosakin... long fins with a curl!

I saw a very nice looking golfish on ebay, the seller says it's a moor and pearlscale mix. That goldfish was a moor but with pearlscale's scale and pearlscale's wen. Pretty cool and very cute looking. This fish's winning bid was 102 dollars, i guess it's pertty cheap because i've never seen a fish like that before. I saved the pictures but i don't know how to upload it.

If anyone can teach me how to insert pictures, that'll be great.

Definitely a NO NO to artficial dyed fish. They all should be banned by LFS worldwide!

The funny thing here is that the small lfs near me has approx. 5" panda orandas (several of them), but their overall selection isn't that great, so I'm going to need to look elsewhere if I want anything else!
The pandas *are* nice. If only I had more tanks.

I wished I could have short bodied orandas with long flowing tails and good wen growth again. Its so hard to find them around here. Besides that I would like to have a panda lionhead with a long tail and fins or just a panda lionhead at least.
This afternoon when I visited the fish store they had some panda ranchus on sale, too bad I dont have enough room for them.

Heh I agree with JohnF on the color variations of fish. It'd be amazing to see a NATURAL goldie with those kinds of colors. Dyed ones however... Too evil. I've actually seen a few before in this small lfs dyed a bunch of odd colors, and while they were neat they weren't very... you know lively looking

Mostly just floating around. It was a shame. Same store had "tattooed" oscars. Ickk.
But ones with some natural crazy colors would be neat

I would LOVE a Blue Siamese Doll.
I love their 'daintiness' and long, flowing fins. And the color blue just makes me drool.
Of course, I would want the usual health problems associated with Dolls to be absent. My Albino Doll that I've had for 5 1/2 years has been sick 3 times and she often swims funny, but she always recovers quickly and has been an awesome gf.

Maybe in about a year I could breed my Comet and Oranda and see what the babies would look like.
