Yep, that's a chinese algae eater, also known as a sucking loach. They can get quite aggressive and do great with barbs, they also get to six inches long.

Goldfish do a great job of rooting through the gravel and making sure no food is missed. If you are still having a need for a bottom feeder, you may want to cut back on the food supply and get a gravel siphon. Regular water changes including gravel siphon and cleaning off the inside of the tank to get rid of the algae should keep it to a level where you don't need an algae eater.

That is the route I have chosen to go with, as even algae eaters require a certain amount of tank space, and produce waste. I'd rather give my goldfish the swimming room and not have as heavy of a stocking level.

Bristlenose plecos and rubberlip plecos seem to be a favorite around here for keeping with goldfish if you are set on having a bottom feeder.

hey thanks its not me that wants a bottom feeder its my husband he just brought home one of those black sucker fish i dont know the name of it and he brought me 2 gold fish to put with the black moor i think they are fan tails im not sure the one we had before the pet store said it was a calico fan tail but it didnt look like the fan tails pitcured here and i havent seen another calico fish like the one we had before but since i have moved the algae eaters to the other tank and put the black sucker fish in with the moor and the other goldfish the other goldfish are going after him too they came from the same store same tank right before we added the gold fish my husband put our friends cichlid in there for a min to i could put the water stuff in his tank and it took a bite out of the black moor fins too so i dont understand why the gold fish are going after him though

Hate to be a downer and asking... but how big is that tank? It looks kinda small for three goldfish. For three fancy tailed (as in double tailed) goldfish you really should have a tank that is 30 gallons (10 gallons per fish), with a filter that pumps 300gph (10x the tank size).

Your fish look like fantails to me, but I am far from an expert.

yea i know bout the tank size i will get bigger tank when i can these are very small right now my husband brought them home and this was the only thing i had he said that they would be fine cause on the box the tank came in showed goldfish he gets fish and leaves it all up to me deal with ggggggggrrrrrrrrrrr

You sure have a chinese algae eater. You may end up having to put him in a tank alone as I did with mine.As as soon as mine reached 4 inchs thats when it turned on everything in the tank.
