Hey guys! I was in my LFS and saw what may have been blue lionheads. Has anyone seen or heard of these? I know there are blue orandas and they're quite common but had never seen a blue lionhead.

smile.gif OMG Erin! I bet they were beautiful! But I have never seen or heard of them before. Hopefully someone here has seen them and can share some info on them. Too bad you didn't take a pic, I would have loved to have seen them.

OH, I hope they stay blue for you!!!!! I have been searching hard for nice black and blue ranchu/lionheads for almost a year now - with very little luck. I cannot even come up with a decent BLACK one!!!!

Post pics!!! ARe they the steel gray type of blue or the silver/black net type of blue?

Bubba is a blue lionhead (with poms). He is now about 11 inches long....

Bertha is a bit smaller Ranchu - she is only about 9 inches.....

Did you say "only" 9 inches, Daryl! Thud.gif rofl2.gif 9 inches in a ranchu, well, that is quite an accomplishment... thumbs.gif

Unfortunately, with those blue colors in babies, its a color that will disappear just as fast as black would. Most do not stay blue. I got one as a baby, and had a red/white a year later. If you can see darker blotches undernath its blue coloration, that is the red coming through. smile.gif

Thanks Andrea! I will keep that in mind. smile.gif
