I have lots of small snails in my outside ponds (whitout Fish only for Water Lillies). My peleco when she dosent have anything to eat she disturbs my goldies at night i mean sticking to their tails and body when they are still. so i have an idea to get rid of peleco and keep snails for gleaning the alge Brown and green is it Ok
I mean can snails live with goldies and will they keep the tank clean of the Alge?

unsure.gif Getting the Pleco out is certainly something that you should do asap...especially if he's allready trying to bother your fish. What kind of snails are these? unsure.gif

Apparently some goldies are fine with snails, but mine chow down on them blink.gif . When the snail population gets out of control in my tropical tank, I toss some in the goldie tank.

I would not recomend putting your snails in with your goldfish because you have no idea what they may be carring. Maybe go to the pet shop and get you some snails? Or you can get a 3 or Brusle Nose Pleco. They do best in groups and well not hurt your goldfish.
Good luck

cry3.gif here is the picture of pelco that i was keeping with goldies eventhis one was disturbing goldies!. my question is if i buy a snail from pet shop will he clean the tank as Peleco was doing?

I've heard that snails won't do as good of a job as a pleco. Have you considered getting a bristle nosed pleco? They are safe to keep with goldies.

is it bristle nosed pleco or blink.gif Brusle Nose Pleco?

The only snails I know about are apples and they will not clean the tank - they need food.
Also, I'm worried about the Pleco and the goldies - have you got it out of the tank yet? It's really important you do as once it starts to eat the GF slimecoat they will be open to bacterial infections - the slimecoat is their protection.
I've heard about Siamese Algae eaters - are they also called flying fox? Does anyone know about them and if they could live with goldies?
