I want to put at least one ornamental snail into my fish tank, however I have two Dojo loaches. Knowing loaches- they devour snails. Do you think the Dojo loaches would go after very large ones?
Thanks in advance

I kept a pair of dojos in with my snails for a short time and they were fine together. If I remember right dojos are okay to have with snails because they aren't as agressive like many other loaches. I may be wrong though, I'm sure someone who knows more will be along shortly smile.gif

I have 10 or 11 Dojo's that have been kept at one time or another in tanks with everything from Mts,to Ramshorns,to Apple Snails, and I have to say that I have never come across them even looking at the snails let alone eating them. Now maybe I've been lucky,I don't know.I think that The Botia's and other species eat/ bother snails, more than the Dojo's.This is JMO and experience. smile.gif

Thanks you guys, I think I'll pick up a snail and see how it goes smile.gif

Do they have to be QT'd the same way I do fish and plants?

yep, dojos should be fine with snails. There are several types of "loaches" that are fine with snails, you just don't want to put any botia species in with them.
