Nets only cost a few dollars. Making a net sounds like more bother than it's worth. It will probably cost you more to make one than to by one.

I saw the brine shrimp nets that look cool, but the handle wasn't long enough.

I bought a fish net for ab out 80 Cents. Seems more expensive making one than buying one.

I do not use a net to scoop brine shrimp ) I use a turkey baster. I do not use a net to catch fish - I use my hands. A net can catch on delicate scales and fins and a fish will struggle in a net. My fish relax in my hands. A fish that is too small to catch by hand can be scooped out with a cup or even a tablespoon.....
