Two of my fish were slowly developing fin rot. I started them on Maracyn and ordered Medi-gold. Three days into the Maracyn treatment I noticed that one of the fish appeared to be developing popeye. I started Maracyn II treatment that day. The medigold arrived the following day and they have been fed only that since then. They have finished the 5 day cycle of Maracyn; tonight is the last night of the five day cycle of Maracyn II. I am not seeing the black edge that is described as healing on their fins but the Oranda's popeye seems to have receded. The pearlscale is spending a lot of time "playing" in the bubble curtain (swimming down towards the gravel in the bubbles or hanging motionless head down in the bubbles). Without seeing any noticeable improvement in their fins, should I continue medications or just the medicated food?

Sorry to hear you are having problems.
Can you post a picture for us? You will have to use photobucket.com and create a free account, due to not having enough posts here, but linking us to that picture will work.
Often finrot can be a sign of parasites so you'll want to make sure you are not seeing any other symptoms that would suggest that.
Depending on the severity of the rot/fraying salt may work after the meds are competed. If the tails or fins are just partially split this will often work.
Or do they look like the "fringe" on a leather coat?

No, not quite fringe but the ends are very jagged - their are no cuts down into the base of the tail, however. I did try salt before I started the Maracyn (up to .3 for a week). I purchased medi-worm from aquarium connection also. Would this help and can I use simultaneously with the medi-gold?

From the way it sounds, I am not convinced it is rot. Usually rot splits the fins down the rays and makes it look like fringe.
Jagged edges..........is there something in the tank that could be catching them? Or are there any fish picking at the fins?
Medigold is ok to feed, I don't like to use it at the drop of the hat but it is safer for the cycle in the tank than the Maracyns.
Make sure you are watching those levels each day, maracyn can crash the cycle.
