Hi all I rescued 2 baby shubukins and a koi they were out side at the bus stop in plastic bag I was curious and walked over opened the bag opened and I saw them i darn near so i now have them at home with me in my available tank which is small but i wasn't going to let them die so i now own these 3 different pond fish i dont know the first thing about these guys any advice

whoever could left them there is so (not talking to you ) if you cant take care of them then dont buy them, if youre going to buy them then dont leave them onto the street. pity that person

Sounds like what happened with my little Mithra and Poe. Mithra didn't make it unfortunately, but Poe is happy and healthy. I don't know much about them either, but I wish you the best of luck and commend you on saving them. I hope it all works out for you.

How evil to abandon fish like that.Well done Jillian on rescueing those adorable fish.I really hope they havent suffered too much from the ordeal some callous person put them through.

they seen to be doing ok yeah i know i was like steaming i'm like asking myself how cold hearted can a person be i'm going to have to get a rubbermaid as i know the type i'm going to need the shubs are calico and have long veil tails the koi is orange and white hmm wondering what do these guys eat i have frozen brine shrimp,i have hikari,i have flakes i have shrimp pellets but i dont know what they eat this is a new game to me and i know what ya mean love-rabbit-fish bout those type of ppl thanks blue i just couldnt let them suffer and i am hoping they pull through and live in my home i am going to post pics up in a lil while of these guys they are so small the koi has cool whiskers though but we shall see how they do

they weren't in the garbage garbage they were in the lfs fish bags still i was curious what was in the plastic bags like shopping bags as they were in there so i basically looked and well and behold their they were i was like as they had been their for awhile as it has been raining here all day on and off and there was some rain water in the bag i immediately starting to ask pp at the bus stopl are these your fish they where like no I was like ok and brought them home

Maybe they weren't abandoned. Maybe the person that bought them set the bag down while waiting for the bus and forgot them.

Hmmm...Wondering that myself Jillian.If they were still contained in Pet Store Fish Bags,maybe the poor things were accidently forgotten. I've seen weirder things happen. Where this stop is located,is there a fish store close to it?Maybe you can place a couple of signs about them, around the area,just in case somone did accidently leave them.

could of been weird things do happen but there was no pet store of lfs Not in the area I found them and caught the bus I was even asking ppl if these were their fish i was waiting around for a good 45 min before i finally gave up

if the koi you rescue was orange and white, it is a kohaku. they eat almost anything goldfish eat. the shubunkin also eat koi food. you can buy anyfood that are for pond fish. i have 2 koi myself, right now they're in tanks, but my dad is building a pond for them. good luck with your

your koi they are beautiful yeah the one is like orange and white! but the tail fin is upward like a V i dont know what that is from a previous injury or deformed but I know nothing on these guys I have them in my tank the shubs are pretty cool looking i like the black and white kinda calico has the shiny scales the other is black red and white looks like it has a butterfly tail but the other has kinda like veil flowing tail i have the flake food for small ponds and thank you for helping me out

Goodness, just saw this. Jillian I would also leave a note at the busstop or with the bus company. You can leave your mail address if you're not comfortable leaving a phone number.

They would certainly have died though if you hadn't taken them so you did a wonderful thing saving them there. If someone made a mistake and forgot them then they will be so grateful to you I know I would be!

If you keep them you could try an indoor pond!!! A huge rubbermaid or tub or something?I know..I know..fishtakeover!

i think i'm going to keep them as i know that i would never have made a mistake and left fish behind that would be like forgetting your child i'm going to do an indoor pond with the rubber maid tub i will get one tomorrow and get a filter for it and all it just angers me that ppl can be so careless and mistake or not forget their fish if i had not of found them they would have been fish i'm actually glad i found them every time i say i'm not going for anymore fish somehow or someway i whined up with them too weird so i'm not going to say it anymore cause just the opposite happens i am truly addicted now

We all are!!!
It's also possible they could have changed their minds about being able to keep them and just dumped them there...too horrible .

Hi Dani,and welcome.I just wanted to say that around here,we try not to bring up posts that are older than a couple months,as most times,the older posts are not quite as accurate as they were at one time.
