I just thought this was too funny and thought I'd share it. I wanted to get an algae eater to go in my 30 gallon tank that has two goldfish in it. I phoned the petstores around here for hillstream loaches but they haven't heard of them. I finally decided to look them up on the internet and realized I have one in my 10 gallon. My friend gave it to me and said it was a butterfly plecostomas. So I moved him in with the goldfish and just bought the last two more from the petstore(they call them butterfly pleco too) since I read they like to be in groups. They are in the 10 gallon for a while until I think they're healthy (they seem fine so I'm not sure how long it's necessary to quaranteen them). Just thought it was funny.

That is funny, Jessica
I have a group of three hillstream loaches and I love them. They have developed a love of ProGold pellets and when I feed, they get on a pellet and they wiggle in excitement

Yes, these guys certainly have a lot of names. Borneo sucker and Wui fang are a few more common ones.

Well I couldn't wait and so today I put the two new hillstream loaches into the 30 gallon goldfish tank. The one loach in the 30 gallon hasn't seen another loach since he lived at the petstore about 6 months ago. It was the most amazing thing I've ever seen in my tank. When he noticed the two new loaches after about 5 minutes of being put in the tank he immediately swam straight over to them. They appeared to be hugging and really excited to see each other. The old one and one of the new ones were both attached to the glass and were spinning around together. They looked like a yin-yang sign. They spun around together for about five minutes. It was just like family members reuniting. My son said they must be mating. Who knows but it was obvious that they recognized each other as the same type of fish. Neat.

That is really neat! I'm glad that you gave your loach some company, since he gave the newbies such a big welcome

Hey! I guess I've got one too! I had no idea that they were the same thing as "Hong Kong" Plecos!
Cool. I just learned something new!
P.S.-It's a great fish!
