Hi everybody biggrin.gif ,
I am going to have 90 g long tank. I also have Java fern and 133 watt lighting system. Is 133 watts enough for java fern in 90 g? Do I need 266?

If I have to use 266, my electric bill will go sky high ignore.gif

Thanks.

As long as you just have java fern, 133 watts should be adequate.

Are you planning on CO2 injection or supplementing nutrients?

nope they are not in my list yet.

My Java ferns are doing great with 40W of lighting in a 29g tank which is a bit less lighting than what you have there, so yes they will do fine. Make sure to add algae eaters to your tank if you will not be adding fast growing plants.

I would use at lest 2wpg for your java fern. It will looks and grow much better that way. With anything 2wpg your fern might start growing funny. It will also love you if you use co2. co2 is easy and cheap. Just get a couple soda bottle and use the yeast method.

Thanks everyone.

I will also think about CO2 sytem.
