I just bought a package of it today at Petsmart. I wanted to try my fishies on a "higher end" food. I have been feeding them TetraFin goldfish flakes with supplementary banana and peas.
I soaked about 5 pellets of it and put them in my tank. My lionhead went nuts and ate all but one of the pellets (!). The oranda and the fantail seemed interested, but not as excited as they get over just flakes.
Who else feeds Hikari? What do you think of it?
Good choice?

I can't answer any of your questions yet. I just bought some myself yesterday. I didn't soak it last night when I fed and ended up with poor little floating fishies.

Needless to say I will be soaking this evening. They loved it last night even though I goofed and fed it to them dry.

I beleive hikari to be an excellent choice, however i much prefer hikaris "Lionhead" pellets to the oranda gold, as they sink.
I also occasionally feed hikari's goldfish flake

Looks like Hikari Oranda Gold is my new food of choice (or at least until I can find the sinking pellets;)
I soak it in a bucket of water I usually have conditioning in front of my tank for about 5-10 minutes, then fish it out with a net and put it in the tank.
They LOVE it:) I still feed some flakes because I don't think my smallest fish can fit the pellets in his mouth.
It's funny, the pellets tend to sink past the filter uptake and they get stuck to the grating. Now my fish are checking every 2 minutes to see if the filter has anything good on it:) Oh, how quickly they learn:)
