Yes, finally! I have 2 banana plant in my tank and they send floating leaves to the top. About last month, I clipped off some of the stems, about 4 inches from the leaves. I just left them floating on top. Today, I saw a couple of root sprouting from the bottom of the stem! Yes, finally, after a month of waiting! I can't wait to plant them in the gravel. Gotta wait for more roots though. biggrin.gif

Cool! Banana plants are so neat looking but all the ones I've ever seen in stores are already dead.

banana plants are great biggrin.gif . if they're cheap, try buy a couple and put it in a seperate container from your fish. they usually *re-live* biggrin.gif they're really easy to reproduce too. i have two of them

one of my banana plant, i thought was dead and it was in a large cup, and said, what the heck, and plop it into the tank, now, it's doing better than the one that was originally in the tank biggrin.gif

try to get it, they're really nice and cool, ...... and hardy! biggrin.gif
*look* at this below smile.gif

I haven't seen a Banana Plant B4. I've only seen Banana Lillies. Good luck with your plant. It's going to make a great addition to your tank once it starts growing smile.gif

Banana plants! One of the few plants I've tried that my goldfish didn't immediately shred. How are you supposed to plant them? Do they anchor in the gravel? I just let mine be, and the goldies re-arrange them as they like to. They're quite the little aquascapers.

yup, i just let the big "mother plant" ( the plant that actually have the banana shoots) onto the gravel in my "planting tank" and anchor the roots down wwith a few rock, a few day later, they're going their roots into the gravel biggrin.gif . i love them so much, favorate plant heartpump.gif heartpump.gif bingo.gif
