DIY temp stand
this is a cheap stand i thought of.
Today I bought cinder blocks $1.38 ea. 2x6x12 douglas fir plank $4 for my temp stand. The shop even cut my plank for free! I will vanish stain the pieces. I have some left over from refurbing my desk.
The Styrofoam I saw at homdepott was $6.70 for a large sheet 6’x8” gigantic. Does it come any smaller?
Where can I get a foam sheet, used in packing boxes & packages? Its usually white or pink.

This sounds simular to the stand that I have for my 55 gallon aquarium. It's made out of 9 cement blocks stacked 3 high. 3 on each side and 3 in the middle with a of piece of wood laid across it.
What is the styrofoam for?

I heard the styrofoam is good for the glass seams,
helps balance out the stress on the joins.

My 55 gallon aquarium stand is like the one in the first link. Only mine has a stack of cement block in the middle (no 2 by 4's) just two 3/4 inch pine boards laying across them covered with a blanket.

That is great! Much more sturdy looking then some I see sold in the pet stores! I would use the one in a minute!
