i bought a fantil a few days ago , but today i noticed it clamping its fins, i know that this is a sign that its is unwell an probably going to get worse, there are two other goldfish in the tank (22 gallons). the filter has not been giving out bubbles for thelast few weeks and i don't know why.
the water is:
PH:7.5
ammonia:0.0
nitrite:0.1
nitrate:0.0

the other fish seem fine but i think the fantail is going to get worse soon.
anyone got any suggestions? i need a reply as soon as possible.

First of all, three fish is probably too many for 22 gallons. I dont put more than 1 fish per 10 gallons.
second, how long has the tank been running?
third, what do you mean by: "the filter has not been giving out bubbles"

Hope I can help.

Hi mary-ann, in addition to mygoldfishislumpy's questions, did you quarantine the new fish? Also, are there any other symptoms such as:

- spitting out food
- redness
- stringy poop
- flashing or scratching
- yawning

What kind of filter are you running? (brand and model number)...

I think this little fellow may have brought home something, but we'll need to try and figure out what exactly.
