Ok, i have a wisper 60 filter in my 55 gallon tank. The some of the water always overflows back into the tank, even if the filter cartarges are brand new. Is it suppose to do this?

That is a problem I found with the Whispers. I never could figure out what to do about it. So I switched filters.
My Emperor will do it when it gets clogged, but only then.
I could be mistaken but a Whisper 60 doesn't filter enough water for a 55gal tank. Have you thought about upgrading?

ok thanks. No its not enough for the 55 gallon and i have been looking for other filters, but i dont have very much money at the moment.
Now isnt there a web sight that sells cheap aquarium things? i cant rember it, but i think it starts with a 'c'
Or isnt there a web sight called 'big als' or something like that too?

I just bought a Whisper 40 2 weeks ago and mine does it also. I also bought a Whisper 20 that had been used two years and it seems like it's dying. I am geting dissapointed with Whispers. I am going to try a different filter on my next tank.

For filters, I like to print out the
PetSmart ad's online and bring them to the store, it's usually half the in-store price.

Best thing to do is to add another filter on your tank. I like to have two filters running on all of my tanks

Mine does this, btu it isn't enough water to 'underfilter' the tank, as it is on a 20 gallon. I actually only change my filter about every 6 months.
