khulis love to be in groups. The more you have the more you will see of them.

I have 8 Kuhli loaches with my goldies that range from 1 inch to 7 inches. They aren't bad to have in your tank or any kind of problem (though I heat mine so they are more comfortable.) You need at least a pair of them, though they sort of pick at algae they wont clean your glass or really do the job a pleco would.

I personally don't feel that Kuhli Loaches are the best companions for goldies. They don't get very big, they're also kind of on the shy side, and mine seem to prefer a lower ph than what I keep the Goldies in,along with warmer temps.Dojo's (Weather Loaches) on the other hand are right up the Goldie's alley. They don't mind the lesser temps that goldies keep, they're more outgoing & therefore more able to deal with the outgoing personalities of goldfish, and they love to eat everything that your goldfish eat, including peas. biggrin.gif
Very interesting about the Algae ,as mine have never shown any interest at all in it.

since i have had the two new ones with the first i have seen more action they are also digging and living under the gravel

I was looking into getting a kuhli loach for my tropical tank but I read somewhere that they prefer sand to gravel because they love digging. Gravel may scratch them

smile.gif My Kuhli's have sand substrate.I never see them burying theirselves though as they like an ornament that I have in there on it's side ,to hide in. biggrin.gif They will forage through the sand though for food. They adapt to the smaller, smoother gravel, but would prefer the sand of course.
