Hello,
I have 2 golden apple snails (just like graphic at top of this page) only 1 to 2 inches big, who I moved to my 10 gallon tank since the new comets were picking at them constantly in the big tank...I've added some rocks and plants, the little tank looks so cute, but would like some fish. What should I get? It's such a little tank I can't have anything that grows big...and its freshwater. I need them to be very hardy since I'm a beginner. Any suggestions? Thanks smile.gif

We have a pond with guppies and snails, and they seem to be co-existing just fine. Maybe try some of those? Ours are wild-caught guppies, the biggest is about 2" and the smallest is uh...fry. Tiny nearly microscopic fry. Those guppies they sell as "feeders" that are about a 1/4" are probably the same thing.

white cloud minnows can live happily in coldwater setups, they are very amusing to keep, they like to live in groups, and are usually quite cheap. I had some in a 12 gal tank once, and they are lovely little fish.

I had 6 in my tank, they dont grow very big only about an inch and a half, so 3minimum to about 6 maximum.
Remember the smails need 2 gal each, so i'd stop at about 6 if i were you. Perhaps just get 3, see how they do, then get some more if they are ok. dont get the whole lot at once as that will increase the bioload of your tank very suddenly.

Yes, I saw white cloud minnows at lfs and they are kind of cute! I like their red tips...so when my ammonia goes down (lots of water changes for now) I'll get them....I saw some gold cloud minnows, wow they are really pretty...but 5$ each !!!! WHAT!!! 5 bucks for a teeny tiny fish?!?!?!
At the least the white clouds are only 70cents so probably that's what I'll get instead.
