Wow! They are stunning? Wondering if you have any more pictures of that tank you'd be willing to share? That's the cutest picture, I had no idea crabs liked apples.

I put apple in my tank and my crabs didn't do anything! So i put them in the food dish, but they just crawled out.

I've seen pics of them in the wild where there are just hundreds attacking rotting fruit! Yummy.
Sharon, mine love peanut butter too! I actually should give them some tonight as they haven't had it in awhile. How many hermies do you have now?

Thanks, it's been a work in progress for a long time! When you have larger crabs like I do now, you have to make sure the water dishes are deep enough (but that little ones can still climb out), they won't get stuck in anything, and that the substrate is deep enough for them to dig in, too.

I've think ive decided to save up for a 20 gallon long tank, and get some hermit crabs

Wow, what a set up! And what beautiful big crabs! I'm new to 'hermies', hopefully someday mine will grow as big as yours!

I had a hermit crab for 2 years (the guy I got it from said they only live for about a year) and it was happy enough in one of those portable tanks with water and food, and some walnut-shell substrate.
I miss having a hermit crab...
