I just got a new snails one golden apple and one ivory apple
the ivory dose not want to come out off his shell hes bin like that for a long time is this normal???

Trust me if he's dead and you smell him you know! They don't eat algae unless there is nothing else to eat. Try some softly cooked romaine lettcue, carrots, spinach, etc.

The smell will for sure let you know! It it worse than anything I have ever smelled!

They do not survive on algae alone. They will eat it, but only when they are starving. They need a high calcium diet with plenty of protein as well. I have a great link for ordering snail food, if you are intersted. I have posted it in another thread here and I will post it for you if ya want. Just let me know.
