I bought some jump start, and I have a question:

Is it rock hard and difficult to soak?
Mine is and I think it might be stale?
anyone know?

I got some awhile back, and opened it immediatly. I thought it was rather hard, too.

I think that since Rick makes his food himself, that the food tends to vary a bit from batch to batch. The last batch of Medigold/Jumpstart that I had was sooooo soft and crumbly that it dissolved practically as it hit the water. Most of it went up the filters. I was disappointed.

I have had batches that are excessively hard, too.

Most of the time, it is JUST right. The fish love it and thrive on the standard foods, the MediGold/MetroMeds work well.....

I fed the Jumpstart I had - but did not notice anything "good, bad or otherwise" with it. I have no particular opinon on the use of the food. In theory, though, it does sound good. I trust Rick, though. If you feel that your fish can benefit from Jumpstart, then go for it. Soak it if it is hard. smile.gif

Jump start is not a food that you feed to a fish on a day to day basis, its only used after you use medigold or metrogold.

Its the same aspect as a human using antibiotics then they should eat yogurt to get the good bugs back in your system to digest things right again. biggrin.gif
