think that since Rick makes his food himself, that the food tends to vary a bit from batch to batch. The last batch of Medigold/Jumpstart that I had was sooooo soft and crumbly that it dissolved practically as it hit the water. Most of it went up the filters. I was disappointed.
I have had batches that are excessively hard, too.
Most of the time, it is JUST right. The fish love it and thrive on the standard foods, the MediGold/MetroMeds work well.....
I fed the Jumpstart I had - but did not notice anything "good, bad or otherwise" with it. I have no particular opinon on the use of the food. In theory, though, it does sound good. I trust Rick, though. If you feel that your fish can benefit from Jumpstart, then go for it. Soak it if it is hard.
