Why is my new koi's eyes turning white? When I got Sue home, after the four hour trip. I notice the one eye was white, now the other eye is turnning white as well. I checked the water and I am doing a 30% water change. It was in the hi stress level now in the low stress. I have live plants in the tank with him. I never see him eat, but he dosen't look thinner.

Lynn, I'm so sorrry about Sue passing away. Did I understand that you just bought her 4 hours plus the time you were at work? Can you get another fish from the place you got her?

Did you test the water? Koi was in your new tank? I think you added all the fish in at once before you fully cycled it.

Did I understand you or misunderstand you. How could changing the water hurt my fish? The water was at a bad level and I only took out part. How often do you cycle the water? I can tell that I am doing some thing wrong. What is it? Do I change the water or not? How do I know when to change the water and when not? <_<

Cycling is the process of setting up the bacteria colonies that filter out the nasties from the water. Odds are, your tank isn't cycled yet. I would do daily 25% changes until the levels are *always* at zero.

Tank been up for three weeks and just add one new fish. The others was already in tank for past three weeks -one day.
Kip I had Sue for approx one week, she looked bad after the four trip from Al to TN.
SpunkyOranda I test the water the next day after the water and some time before I change the water just to see how bad it is. If it is real bad I take out just a little bit more.
