Hi all, I need some expert advice here:

The guy at my LFS reccomended BIOZYME to speed up the cycling process. The tank was not fully cycled when I rehomed my goldies to it... ( i KNOW, It won't happen again believe me badidea.gif ) I was only about 4 weeks in to cycling when I added them. Total running time of the tank is at 2 months...

What do you think of this BIOZYME product? Will it help lower Nitrate/Nitrite? My fish are eating it, is that ok?

I have been doing 40% water changes every two days. I have two HOB aquaclear 20 filters with carbon, ceramic rings, and sponge as media in each (I know, bigger filters are coming soon) on a 35 gal tank. Tank is salted. I have one 2" fantail, one 2" ryukin, and one 1" RYUKIN.

Also, Tufts of green algae are forming on my fake plants -- is this ok?

Stats are below:

Biozyme is "safe". I used it for years with African Cichlids. However, there are some mixed reports regarding its actual effectiveness. There is a product that is hard to find and quite expensive [cost me close to $120 for enough to start up a 180 gallon tank]. It is called Bio Spira. It has to be kept refrigerated and you may not even know your retailer has it unless you ask for it. It is supposed to be very effective at speeding up the cycling process.

Hi Comet Keeper - Thanks for your answer. My LFS actually does have Biospira but I simply cannot afford it at this point. I'll be going to the LFS for a new filter tonight and will probably just grab some Prime while i'm there...

BTW - Biozyme smells like white cheddar. *gross*
