I added 7 comets (feeders) to cycle my tank today and this evening I noticed my apple snail crawling on the gravel without antennae...do you think the goldfish ate them off or are they just hidden...I thought he always had them out when he crawls....?
Have I done something disastrous by adding these fish to my tank??? YIKES!!!! blink.gif

unsure.gif If you're no longer seeing the antennae's,chances are that the commons nippeed them off. What size tank are all these fish in?Try to keep all the posts about your snail questions in one thread. That way everyone sees all the information at at one time. smile.gif

Just wondering on the size of your tank....Comets need a lot of space! 7 comets need 15-20 gallons per fish..Is this a new tank? I love new tank pictures do you have any?

Good idea...I'll try and get some photos soon!
No worries on comet size, they'll be moving to pond once tank is cycled...then i'm getting fancies yeah.gif

goldfish are notorious for nipping off the 'feelers' on snails so yes, they probably did. Goldies will bite their feet, too if they get a chance.
