I just noticed today that my bottle of Amquel+ STINKS. Does this stuff just normally stink? I have smelled it before but unable to find its souce (and go figure I smelled it after conditioning new water with the amquel+) So is this normal? Just wanna make sure...

I don't know about Amquel stinking but Prime I can tell you stinks to the high heavens. The price we pay for the love of our fish... exactly.gif

I just smelled my regular Amquel and I couldn't smell a thing... I would check the expiration date, if it doesn't have one go get a new bottle. When in doubt, throw it out. biggrin.gif

AmQuel+ is supposed to stink. I exactly know why, but I've had a few bottles and they all smelled like a rotton.. fart.gif
Maybe AmQuel+ has an added ingredient that regular AmQuel doesn't have...
I wouldn't worry about it though, there's a lot of treatments that smell bad and they're still bestsellers

I have Amquel+ and I haven't noticed a smell, but I've never sniffed the bottle. I will go home tonight and see.

ok god im glad, Im sure its probably fine. If its a chemical that is taking ccare of ammonia, it has to stink lol.

This is correct. The chemicals that do the work for you smell like skunk.

Keep your bottle tightly sealed when not in use. The stuff you add to the tank should only smell badly for a few hours. It usually disappates after that - or to a more tolerable level. smile.gif
