Hey, i bought two dojo loaches a few months back... about 2 or 3 months back and put them in my goldies tank. The guy at the petstore told me that i may have to move them as they wont do well with the cold temps. I keep my goldies at room temp... is it really going to be a problem? So far theyve been fine. One of the main reasons i got them was to eat up bits of uneaten food (not to mention they are sooo funny) and because kokos said it was one of few things that could be kept with the fish. However when i was home last i noticed one of them chasing my blackmore and it looked almost like he was sucking on his side.... blink.gif Please tell me this isnt what i think it is sad.gif Is my dojo attacking my goldfish?

Dojo's will play with the goldfish, they will swim next to them, eat particles that are on the fish, but yet I have seen one actually suck on the goldfish, Weather loaches are meant for cold waters, they naturally live in rivers and streams.

I have 5 Weather loachs with my adult goldfish and I have yet seen any harm done to them or the loachs....I have seen the loachs try to eat the food out of my goldfish's mouth now thats a funny thing to see biggrin.gif

smile.gif I have to agree on that.I think I have 10 or 11 Loaches, and I've never had any problems with them trying to harm my fish. They are little prankster's though, and love to tease the goldies. rofl3.gif

Mine always did that. It did stress the goldies out as they did it a lot.. especially when they were hungry or eating. I dont think they are doing it to be agressive.. but they aren't very considerate either.
In the future I dont think I'll be keeping them with goldfish. But I do love them biggrin.gif

i have three now in with my fancies, and all get on well. the loaches used to bother the goldies all the time, now i have two that are in 'love'!! and hide under the logs a lot of the time and come out at night. at the moment they haveing a lovers spat and are sleeping under seperate logs. the other loach that i have is trying to be more like a goldie than a loach and tends to sleep with them.

just make sure your tank is loach safe, as in there are no holes that they can escape out of, as they will!! i found out the hard way that they can get out of any hole!

have fun!!
