I am so excited! My friend's girlfriend just told me that she has a 110g tank + hood + stand + filter that I can have for free!!!! smilie_staub.gif She said it's pretty dirty and nasty, but I don't care! Free tank wooo!!! Now I just need to convince my husband that we need to fill it with goldies! rofl3.gif

Thanks all I still can't believe that it's actually true. They said they'd deliver it on sunday so I can hopefully get pictures then. For now I need to figure out where in the world I'm going to put it!

That is fantastic. Just keep in mind that a 110 gallon tank holds water weighing at least 880 pounds. That does not include the weight of the tank, itself, the gravel, the stand, etc.....

(Then you have to take into account those HUGE heavy goldies you will be adding in!!!! wink.gif )

Plan on the entire unit weighing about 1000 pounds......

Take a look at the floor joists. See if you can set the tank at right angles to the direction the joists run....

My house is on a concrete slab with no basement or crawl space. I originally wanted a basement, but we have a high water table so most affordable houses have basements that leak and the ones that don't leak are the great big houses on hills that are WAY too much. Sooo.... it sucks if there's a tornado but it's good for fish tanks!
