I went to the LFS the other day and they had some really nice big red ramshorns so I bought a couple:

Their feasting on some goldfish dinner. They've already laid lots of eggs yikes.gif They are in Mr Tinky's tank. Mr Tinky is a Tandanus Catfish so hopefully he will be able to help with controlling the snail population smile.gif

Does anyone here know how long it takes for Ramshorns eggs to hatch?

rolleyes.gif Seems like overnite to me,but in truth ,i don't know offhand. rofl3.gif
I'll be honest, with the dealings that I've had with them,I would never purposely buy them,as it took years to get rid of them. krazy.gif
Sadly enough,a few eggs must have lived on a couple of plants that I recieved and I'm dealing with them all over again. Thud.gif

exactly.gif I know just what your talking about Sharon. I had them awhile back and swore never, never, never to buy them again. I'm now staring at all the jelly clutches thinking "Why did I do this to myself again?" why.gif I'm a bit annoyed with myself SmackBottom.gif I'm an aqaurium junkie boom.gif , I can't go down to the shops and not go to the LFS and buy something. I buy things that I don't really want, just for the sake of buying something blink.gif .

I'm planning to feed the baby snails to my GF to keep the population under control, and hopefully Mr. Tinky does his bit too Scoff.gif

If you like the shape of those snails, why not look into Columbia Ramshorns? They are actually an Applesnail. They don't come in that lovely shade of Red,they can be found Gold,or Dark with a stripe.I have one myself. biggrin.gif
I also heard that they tend to eat the babies of other snails. yeah.gif ignore.gif

I will have to look into getting a coupke of columbia ranshorns. I've never seen them here at the LFS. I will have to ask. I counted 12 jelly things already krazy.gif I think I just might scrape them off and dispose of the ones I can see.

Those are cool looking snails! I've got some columbia ramshorns that I hatched from eggs, they only took about a week to hatch, not sure about the type you've got though.
