I don't have the tank but thought I'd offer some advice anyway. I think if it were me, I wouldn't waist money on smaller tanks when you know you'll need a big one in the long run. wink.gif Upgrading as you go is going to be more expensive than just going for a large tank from the start.

Acrylic tanks are lighter than glass. This is a plus.

But, I feel they are much easier to damage - and thus have a shorter life. Arcylic scratches easily - even when you are being careful. Each of those scratches then, is a place for algae to grab ahold - and you cannot dig it out without more scratchs. It is possible to buff scratches out - but this requires breaking down the entire tank.

Acrylic tanks are also more expensive, gallon for gallon, than glass tanks.

I have many tanks. Because of that, a specific tank is not particularly important. I move tanks around, loan tanks, etc. BUT - I do understand that if you have a special place where you want to put a particularly showy tank, you may want something unusual and flashy. This acrylic tank would meet that criteria. It is certainly showy.

If you think that you may wish to upgrade and keep more than one large goldie or two small ones, a 20 gallon show tank will be just that - a show tank. You will want a "workhorse" in the future.....

I can get a 20 gallon tank for $27. With a hood and flourecent light, it is $38. Just a thought.....

true, i really need to upgrade! right now i have a 10 gallon w/ my small (for now) 3 goldies. i am probably going to upgrade to either a 20 or 30 gallon, and keep my 10 gallon running and divide them up appropriately. thanks for the advice i am probably going to go with the glass tank to save money! thanks =]
