Are they safe to put in my tank with the goldfish? Just wondering wink.gif

I'd say not. Firstly they're terrestrial plants not aquatic so they won't survive, and also I *believe* that ivy is poisonous, so it may harm the fish if it tries to eat it. Best not. smile.gif

Actually, I just asked my mom, I dont think it is an ivy plant, I will have to find out. But I know that this plant does thrive in water because we cut off one of its stems, put it in water and it grew roots, so we could have a new plant to put in an extra pot.

Some plants thats how they regenterate but thats just the roots not the whole plant them selfs. Must be careful in what plant you add some plants are dangerious to fish. <_<

I think I will just stick with good old plastic plants wink.gif

Well, it's very good to have some live plants in the tank - they help to keep those naughty nitrates down for one thing. smile.gif Try any of these: Green Cabomba, Hornwort, Vallisneria, Java fern, Java Moss, Anacharis, Anubia, Swordplant or Cryptocorynes. They look lovely and will do well in a GF tank (unless eaten!) biggrin.gif

Hornwort is great cause your goldie will hate it... in a food sense, that is. This is a good thing. It can be messy, though.

Yep, hornwort grew like crazy in my tank... but when vacuuming the gravel most of the debris were hornwort needles.

Try out the Java ferns, the fish wont eat them, will do well with low lighting. Tie the roots to a rock or piece of driftwood and watch them grow (slow grower).
